Tuesday Night Reflections

November 26, 2008

Several thoughts before I head off to bed for the night!

  • The Packers got destroyed last night, because they called too many conservative plays! (Are we using the same game plan in our attempt to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom!)
  • I am thankful that my “Steelers” won their game on Thursday night, and I am excited to see the game on Sunday!
  • I am very excited that I am ranked # 1 in Fantasy Football this year!
  • Ashlee normally wins all of our Fantasy Football Leagues, but not this year baby!
  • Thanksgiving should be a fun and exciting day with lots of family and friends! (I really dislike Turkey, but my father-in-law is roasting one on the grill so I will try it)
  • Black Friday and the whole shopping craze is a wonderful thing, and I cannot wait to see crazy people, doing crazy things in the name of saving money.
  • I really need to get 2 more couples (w/ or w/o kids) and 2 more individuals to partner with Overflow by the end of January!
  • Over the last several weeks, I realized that I have not cast enough vision in the area of our church growth goals. Our goal is 45 adults on Sunday mornings by April of 2009!
  • I have apologized or said I am sorry for the vision God has given me for Overflow for the last time!
  • I refuse to compromise the Gospel and the vision that Jesus Christ has given to Ashlee and I for this new work we have called Overflow.
  • Romans 15:13 – 13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
  • The above verse is the inspiration for the name Overflow Church and the verse God used to speak to us about our bi-line. (…bringing hope, joy, and peace to the Fox Valley!)
  • Christians OFTEN use prayer as an excuse for inactivity!  Remember, Sarah did not get pregnant by “praying about it!”  She took action!!!
  • I need to find some inspiration to go and work out! (maybe a bike race or marathon)
  • I have decided to grow a beard and keep it trimmed really short for the winter
  • I am so excited winter is here, and the holiday season is upon us!
  • I oddly like shoveling snow. It is peaceful and I just laugh and dream the entire time. It is something about the bitter cold, white snow, and peaceful dark sky’s at 5:45 to 6:15 in the morning.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my Tuesday Night Reflections!

Last thought: If you could have the ability to “Design Your Life” what would you design?

In His Favor,
